Eden Winery

Eden Winery, operated by the Kiser family, is located in the tiny town of Alva about 10 miles east of Fort Myers. In 1986, Eden Vineyards and Winery became the southernmost federally licensed, bonded winery and vineyards in the United States.

This is a great day trip out to "the country" from the Naples or Fort Myers area. Taste the wines and explore the countryside.

Some of the wines available at the vineyard:

  • LAKE EMERALD - Fermented at cold temperatures in French oak barrels to achieve the elegance and complexity of a truly fine wine. Extremely dry, with an underbody of ripe fruit. Very dry.
  • ALVA ROUGE - Mildred Kiser's spaghetti wine. Created in the Beaujolais Nouveau style; fresh & fruity; marvelous with pasta and light meat dishes; superb with roast chicken. Medium dry.
  • ALVA WHITE - A marvelous wine to sip and enjoy with friends. Crisp yet fruity. Excellent with seafood, pork & poultry. Medium dry.
  • CORAL BELL - Their version of the ever popular California "Blush" but not quite as sweet. Mouth-filling grape flavors with a bright, clean finish. Lightly sweet.
  • EDEN STARS - Made from "starfruit" grown in South Florida. Eden's tropical alternative to the California Blush. Serve chilled or as a complement to lite lunches, salads and picnics. A perfect match to seafood, light meats and poultry. All-around fun wine. Lightly sweet.
  • EDEN SPICE - A very special, very popular wine just brimming with exotic flavors. Most people buy it "cause it just tastes so good." Sweet.

The reception room at the Eden Winery is open every day (except major holidays) from 11 AM until 4 PM for tasting and sales. To get to the vineyard, go North on I-75 to exit 141. Go east on US 80 ten miles to Alva. Start watching for the small green signs. The public entrance to Eden Vineyards is 400 feet down Little Lane. If you get lost, their number is 239-728-9463.
